 Sonja A.

 

Sonja earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.  She has had significant experience caring for elderly with dementia in residential care settings over the past 12 years.  Sonja has also worked as a Registered Nurse on a medical surgical floor serving adults of diverse populations and ages.  Sonja has been with Matrix since August of 2007.

 

 Sheila B.

 

Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nurse Teacher Education from the State University of New York, and her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arizona.  She is certified in Gerontological Nursing by the American Nurse's Association, and is a licensed Public Health Nurse in Minnesota.  Sheila worked as a staff Registered Nurse and Clinical Educator in a long term care facility, and has extensive experience in the management and care of clients with dementia in the community and in facilities.  She has also worked extensively with children, particularly those for whom English was a second language.  Sheila has been a Care Consultant with Matrix since the fall of 1988, and serves clients in the south and southeast Twin Cities, including St. Paul and its suburbs.

 

 

 Sandy E-M

 

Sandy earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN and her Masters Degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  She is a licensed psychologist as well as a public health nurse.  Sandy has extensive experience working with all ages in home care, long term care and outpatient clinics.  Her area of expertise is in mental health assessment and treatment. She works with clients primarily in the southeast metro area as well as south-eastern Minnesota Sandy joined Matrix in September 2002.

 

 

 Julie E-S

 

Julie earned her AD in nursing from St. Mary's Junior College in 1987 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Catherine's in 2002.  She has worked as a staff nurse on a surgical step down unit,  worked briefly in the intensive care unit and worked as a charge nurse on a cardiac step down unit.  In 1999, she  became the manager of the Cancer Care unit, where she worked until October 2007 She has a deep interest in end of life care and in helping people make quality of life decisions.  Julie joined Matrix in December 2007.

 

 

Judy H.

 

Judy earned her nursing diploma from Oak Park Hospital School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science in Health Arts from St. Francis College in Joliet, Illinois, and her Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She has extensive experience working with home care and hospice clients, and formal training and experience in grief counseling.  Judy's sense of humor enables her to establish therapeutic relationships with even the most resistant clients, and her persistence in problem-solving helps keep clients in their homes.  Judy sees clients in south Minneapolis, and has been with Matrix since March 1998.

 

 

 Karen L.

 

Karen L. earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and her Master of Science Degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix, summa cum laude.  She is certified in gerontological nursing and is a licensed public health nurse.  Karen has extensive experience working with elder adults in long term care and as an educator working with long-term care nurses and care providers over the past 24 years.  Karen serves Matrix clients in the southern metro area and joined Matrix in September 2002. She has served as the Clinical Supervisor since 2004 and is the Vice President of Case Management services.

 

 Carol O.

 

Carol earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and completed a Master of Science in Nursing with majors in critical care nursing and nursing administration from University of Texas. She also did post-graduate coursework in an adult nurse practitioner program. Carol holds a concurrent position as director of medical/surgical services in a large urban hospital, and serves clients in the south metro. She joined Matrix in June 2006.

 

 

Heidi O.

 

Heidi earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Minnesota along with her minor in Child Psychology and is a licensed Minnesota Public Health Nurse. Heidi's areas of expertise include neonatal and pediatric chronic and acute care, perinatal care, audits of clinics and hospitals for quality assurance purposes, long term care insurance evaluations, and clinical research. She has extensive public health nursing experience working with clients with diverse populations and ages and worked with the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services in devising tools to assess the chronically ill in the community. Heidi joined Matrix in June 2006 and serves clients in the metro area.

 

Lynne P.

 

Lynne is the President of Matrix AdvoCare Network, a firm she started in 1987 to provide care consulting and advocacy services for seniors and people with disabilities.  She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Bethel College, Arden Hills, Minnesota and her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.    Lynne is certified in Gerontological Nursing by the American Nurse's Association, and is a licensed Public Health Nurse in Minnesota.  She also holds certification as a Case Manager from the Commission on Case Manager Certification, and was certified in critical care nursing for ten years.  Her hospital-based practice included critical care nursing in neurosurgery, burn, cardiovascular, medical/surgical and coronary intensive care units.  She also has worked in long term care facilities and in home care.  Lynne's areas of expertise include health insurance issues and coordinating care for dementia clients and adults with complex, high-tech needs.

 

 

Amy T.

 

Amy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Winona State University, Winona, MN.  She earned her Masters degree in the Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist program at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.  She is licensed as a public health nurse for the state of Minnesota.  Amy has experience working with adults and elders in home care and acute care settings.  Amy has been with Matrix since March of 2007.

 

 

Jackie W.

 

Jackie received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul Minnesota.  She worked as a charge nurse on a medical surgical floor for 4 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis and while attending graduate school at the University of Minnesota.  She received a Master's Degree as an Adult Geriatric Nurse practitioner in 1979.  She is a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and worked for Aspen Medical Group in the Department of Internal Medicine for over twenty years.  She also worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Bethesda's Hospice Home Care Department.   She is currently writing a book on grief.  Jackie joined Matrix as an on-call Case Consultant in 2006.
